Do you think genjutsu would work on a sayian?

I have always wanted to see certain animes go head to head and recently i have been thinking about DBZ and naruto and how me personally have always favored DBZ as the stronger characters so i was trying to better understand their techniques and methods. The characters in Naruto combine physical energy and spiritual energy to create chakra. chakra is a form of energy used to create ninjutsu. In DBZ the energy used is called Ki or Kai and it is a more pure form of energy then chakra so i have always figured that DBZ characters are stronger because they have an abundant amount of energy (even more then a tailed beast DBZ characters have been known to destroy planets) but i recently watched a DBZ episode where Vegeta was asking Goku what he had learned on a planet called yardrat he pointed out that they were a weak species but had INTERESTING techniques to make up for their weakness. So i was thinking maybe a weaker opponent could beat a sayian with an interesting technique. Genjutsu works by controlling the flow of chakra in a person or in a sayians case the flow of ki or energy. if a powerful sharigan user were to try to use this technique on a sayian would it be too much energy for them to control? (remember sayians have more energy then tailed beast.)
